A drone can add a completely different perspective to your wedding film — sweeping venue shots, your arrival from above and cinematic golden-hour portraits. But wedding drone videography is different from other event filming, and it pays to know what to expect before you book.
Here are six things every couple should know.
1. The venue must give permission
Most venues are happy once they see a CAA operator ID and insurance certificate. At Power-Drones we contact the venue in advance, agree take-off points and identify any no-fly moments.
2. Drones are never flown over guests
We do not fly directly over crowds, and we stay grounded during the ceremony and speeches. The drone works during arrivals, group shots and couple portraits, and is landed the rest of the time.
3. Weather is the main wildcard
Rain and strong wind mean we cannot fly safely. We monitor the forecast and build flexibility into the day so we can use gaps in the weather for the key shots.
4. A single day package can cover multiple locations
Church and reception in one day is common, as long as both addresses are within the same booking window and airspace is checked in advance.
5. The edit matters as much as the flight
Raw drone footage is only part of the result. We deliver a short, colour-graded cinematic highlights film plus the full set of aerial stills.
6. It is more affordable than most couples expect
Our wedding day package covers up to six hours for a flat £199 plus travel. Weekend dates also qualify for a 20% discount.
